Syncurrent Partners with Massachusetts Municipal Association

Syncurrent, a government technology company and Marquette based startup, has announced a new partnership with the Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) to help municipalities across the state more easily identify and pursue state and federal funding opportunities.

Through this partnership, Syncurrent’s AI-powered funding platform will be available as a resource for all 351 Massachusetts municipalities, helping local governments navigate the increasingly complex grant landscape and unlock critical funding for their communities.

Simplifying the Grant Process

Each year, more than $1 trillion in grant funding is available at the state and federal levels. However, many municipalities and tribal nations lack the time, staff, or expertise required to track down and apply for relevant funding opportunities.

Syncurrent’s platform addresses this challenge by automating the grant discovery process. Using artificial intelligence, the platform delivers customized lists of funding opportunities tailored to each government’s specific eligibility, priorities, and capacity.

“We’re proud to partner with Syncurrent because we’re strong believers in AI’s potential to transform how we serve our communities,” said Katie McCue, Deputy Executive Director at the Massachusetts Municipal Association. “Our goal is simple: make funding more accessible to all our members. This partnership helps us get there by enabling municipalities to work smarter, not harder.”

A Model Built for Collaboration and Growth

The partnership operates under a revenue-sharing model, with the MMA supporting adoption among its members while Syncurrent provides the technology and ongoing platform support. This collaborative framework is designed to scale as Syncurrent continues expanding into new municipal markets across the country.

According to Dhruv C. Patel, CEO and Co-founder of Syncurrent, the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to collaboration over competition.

“Working with the Massachusetts Municipal Association shows how partnerships can drive stronger outcomes for local governments,” Patel said. “Our goal is to grow alongside municipalities and demonstrate that Syncurrent truly understands the unique challenges they face.”

Momentum Across the Midwest and Beyond

This announcement builds on Syncurrent’s growing momentum in the public-sector innovation space. Earlier this year, the company partnered with the Michigan Municipal League and the State of Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, further expanding access to funding tools for communities across the state.

With the addition of Massachusetts, Syncurrent is continuing to position itself as a trusted partner for municipalities nationwide, helping governments secure the resources they need to better serve their residents.
