Request for Proposals

Innovate Marquette is seeking proposals from qualified consultants or consulting teams to facilitate the development of a comprehensive strategic plan that will guide the organization’s next phase of growth and impact.

As the Michigan SmartZone serving Michigan’s Central Upper Peninsula, Innovate Marquette works with entrepreneurs, investors, universities, and regional partners to support the creation and growth of technology-driven companies. Through this strategic planning process, Innovate Marquette aims to evaluate its current capabilities, examine best practices from leading innovation ecosystems, and develop a forward-looking strategy that strengthens the region’s ability to create and scale high-impact companies.

The selected consultant will work closely with Innovate Marquette leadership, staff, Board of Directors, and regional stakeholders to assess the organization’s current position, identify opportunities for growth, and create a roadmap for future success.

Project Scope

The strategic planning process is expected to include:

  • Discovery and organizational assessment
  • Stakeholder engagement and outreach
  • Environmental scanning and benchmarking
  • Strategy development and prioritization
  • Leadership and board alignment
  • Strategic plan drafting and implementation roadmap

Desired Expertise

Innovate Marquette seeks consultants with demonstrated experience in innovation ecosystem development, entrepreneurship support organizations, startup accelerators, technology commercialization, regional economic development strategy, or related fields.
